Members twosticks
Howdy, during the breakdown, I got an e-mail from a guitarist friend of mine from back in the day. We've been writing back and forth and lately he sent some old (20 years actually) from the supermarket chain banquet we played with his brother and friend and some pics he had from a time when he joined in on a practice I had with another group of friends. Beware: these pics are nothing fancy and the drum set is pure junk, but it got me through I guess, just doesn't seem like I should have 20 year drum pics, makes me feel old. Pics of supermarket banquest, guitarist was a meatcutter for them. OMG, Maxwin by Pearl set, 20" bass, 3 set of Rototoms, 14" Ludwig LM400 (wish I still had the snare) Also notice guys in the background are not impressed one bit. guitarist friend that sent pics on far left, his brother to the right of him, extra singer friend of theirs next, and the bass player from hell, couldn't play at all! Can barely see me I think behind all the "equipment" lol Pics from practice at another friends, His dad had the local Ma and Pa music store. Notice the harmonica case in one pic. Same set as above, by now I had replaced the Rotos with small concert toms, got a rack, boom stands for the cymbals, looks like better playing angles as well. Friend that sent pics in background Not sure what's going on here? other guitarist friend behind cymbal? Me on the left with the tambo, other guitarist in the middle (was 19 and already balding) good guitarist and songwriter. Guy that sent me the pics said middle guy wound up dropping out of college and working in a t-shirt shop. Far right is shop owner's son, could tell you the notes and key each song was in, was okay to decent as a player, didn't like taking his gear outside his room or the music shop, I know??? Well hope you enjoyed and wasn't too dumb to post, I guess we all had to start somewhere.
Members 1001gear
Couple observations. Questionable drumset and hey, you don't look anything like a goon at all.

Members Carminemw
How did those tom mounts ever fit in that kick! They could have been called aerial toms...
Members faileddrummer
If I was playing drums 20 years ago, I'd have some awesome pics also! It'd look like this:

Members twosticks
yes akward tom height........but i see what you were going for there..easy transition from the roto's yeah, yeah, that was it! Notice the angles got better once I got rid of the rotos? I now remember having to replace a few tom arms with the kit, is why I was much happier with the rack.(which you can't see in the later pics) I think the banquet was a few years earlier than the music store pics. Yes, it does look like a smaller bass, I guess perspective is everything, plus the black dot makes look smaller as well. 20" heads is what fit it though. And yes, the secret's out, all the chicks dropped me like a hot potato once they saw "The Hoff" ! Is why we broke up, Hollywood told him it's either us or Pam A. and the TV show. The rest is history and an open wound, is how my drinking problem started.....
