Members Ender_rpm
THey should have shot the {censored}er. Regardless of how you feel about the person occupying it, the office of the President of the US, and the dignity of that office, should not be allowed to come under this kind of ridicule. If he was able to throw a shoe, he could have thrown a knife or grenade, who the hell is in charge of security? the {censored}in Monkees? EDIT: In the Arab culture, to be trod upon, or be below someones feet is a grave insult to ones dignity. The absence of closed sewage systems in many areas should make the "why" a bit clearer. I'm guessing they ensured that none of the journalists at the conference had a weapon, but stopped short of forcing them all to remove their shoes. Perhaps all press conferences from now on should have a mandatory nude-policy? :poke: Just in case...

Members phaeton
In the Muslim world, throwing shoes or hitting someone with your shoe is a pretty tall insult. In fact, he'd probably get more kudos from his brethren for tossing a shoe than something that could cause injury, such as a stone or a knife. FYI. Someone could have thrown a camera or a set of false teeth Shooting the guy? He may have accepted that as a possibility before he threw the first shoe.
