The 4x number may be unverifiable, but just given this country's history, is it so hard to believe that racism alone might account for a pretty significant increase in death threats?

Somewhat, yes. But there's idiots everywhere. Are they all even isolated to just the US? Who knows. Nobody has any verifiable info or figures. But it sounds good to blurt out on your blog or webcast, and people whip it into hysteria. Tell me this isn't the first time you think this has happened.

Why is Obama getting four times the death threats that Bush did? I suspect that right-wing authoritarians are more amenable to violence as a solution than the lefty-liberals who opposed Bush.

Any thoughts?

So does that make the American revolutionary colonists fighting tyranny the same type of people who we now called right-wing authoritarians?

Fighting an authoritarian, tyrannical, socialist leaning, anti-Constitutional government seems like a very patriotic thing to do.

As a matter of opinion, I think it is the right thing to do.

I had to borrow two pennies to get my two cents worth of opinion.

Also those nutjobs that burn down people's homes in wilderness areas and iron-spike trees so there's a dangerous kick-back on a logger trying to chainsaw them.

...or a firefighter who's trying to create a fire break. My uncle was a smoke jumper and saw this happen a few times to his buddies but ya, gotta save those trees!

You mean Obama would never say anything stupid like this-

Sounds pretty tightly constrained. Not.
;)

How about this latest gem from your hero, Bush?

I'm going to put people in my place, so when the history of this administration is written at least there's an authoritarian voice saying exactly what happened." --George W. Bush, on what he hopes to accomplish with his memoir, as reported by the Associated Press, Calgary, Canada, March 17, 2009

Or this?

"One of the very difficult parts of the decision I made on the financial crisis was to use hardworking people's money to help prevent there to be a crisis." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Jan. 12, 2009

All those kids dropping out of LA unified are republicans?

California contains some of the most educated people in the united states.

If you have to pick one school in one city in California to make your point then feel free to do so, but it's not a very compelling argument.

I'm just havin' fun. I don't mean to put words in your mouth but I take it your implication is that republicans are stupid. I guess the same map could be used for the argument that democrats are brainwashed considering the preponderance of liberal teachers and professors. We've got enough to worry about without the name calling.
