Members mcr23
I'm a guitar guy so I don't know what the difference is between them on bass
Members Mytola
The difference in sound is extremely subtle. You won't notice it. The difference in feel is something that I notice, but it's not really major. If you don't have any preference either way, just choose what you think looks the best. Members mcr23
I think the maple looks hot on the G&L blueburst http://www.amazon.com/Tribute-L-2500-String-Blueburst-Maple/dp/B0002H0BPU

Members chubrocker
GasKing, I just suggested you donate your bass on another thread--but after seeing its a Tribby 5er, how much? As for fretboard, I prefer Rosewood.

Members garytees
Trying to decide on a G&L with either a maple or rosewood board. What are your guitars, maple or rosewood? Perhaps go with whatever your guitar is so the transition is easier.

Members ezstep
I was a hardcore maple guy for a while, but grew fond of the softer feel of the rosewood. General misconception. Rosewood is harder than maple. 1780 vs. 1450 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janka_hardness_test Go with whichever looks better for the color. You won't hear much difference, and you can always dial in the tone you prefer.

Blueburst + rosewood = teh secks (blueburst + maple = teh secks, too)
Members jonathan_matos5
i have the blueburst and you cant have mine. maple is the answer. just a little warning unless they changed their paint mix since i bought mine the blue is hardly noticeable unless the light hits it just right. you end up with a black bass. Members dionysusolympus
rosewood myself for slightly darker tone, maple definitely for playability.
Members liko
For bass, I like the richness of rosewood. Skinny-stringers just sound more like I think they're supposed to with maple, and yes maple boards are much easier to play (slides, bends, etc are much easier on that polished maple surface than the rosewood grain). Members Fireball_73
I'm usually a rosewood fan, but my god with the blue the Maple is much hawter.
Members Davedblyoo
I think that if I get another bass it's gonna have a maple board. Everything else is rosewood, and I'm kinda missing my '73 sunburst P that had a maple board on it.
Members Darkstorm
Myself, I dont like maple fretboards, so would choose rosewood for me.
