Members BeeTL
Funny thing...I really thought the 5 headstock would be awkward, but it looks SOOOO much better than I imagined. That combined with a tilt-back design and I think I have a winner.I've got Lindy Fralin on board with designing unique 5 and 6-string bass pickups, so I think I may have a big winner for the bass crowd. Moderators ThudMaker Posted December 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2011 I like the idea of that upper horn being a little longer fo balance....or perhaps in your experience this will already balance well. Either way, this is really cool stuff. Thanks for posting up your shop work, BeeTL.
Members BeeTL
Thanks!Sooooo...it's been a bit of a frustrating few months in the shop.It seems like I was taking one step forward and five steps back every time I ventured down there, so I took a little break.Getting back to things, here's where I am on the prototype basses.I hope to have them finished and ready to ship in the next two weeks or so. Members groutt
I really like that. All the shapes, the white edging, sharp corners on the metal bits, reckless angle of the pickup. It's a bass on a mission.

Members BeeTL
It looks like I'll be having bridges, rings & control plates fabricated in polished stainless steel by Hipshot. They will be "drop in" replacements for '50s F-style bridges, but with individual saddles:
Members BeeTL
Control plate, Thunderbird and Humbucker pickup ring prototypes in stainless steel by Hipshot Products, Inc. Also, four-string bass bridge plate prototype in stainless steel with top-mount and string-through options. Zack at Hipshot is doing a great job on these for me.
