Speaking of Apple, my wife is in the habit of talking to her Android ."OK GOOGLE" is her favorite saying...and surprisingly GOOGLE ANSWERS BACK. We were at an Applebees today with a friend....and this friend had an IPhone 6. In comparison to OK GOOGLE.....SIRI IS RETARDED ! It never answered one thing right !!

It's a Motley Fool Investment ad, but with some interesting points nonetheless:

Well...

But then there's this...

So who knows? It seems the current thinking is that there won't be an Apple car, but Apple will develop car-related technology. I guess the analog would be Apple didn't become a mobile carrier like AT&T or Sprint, but came up with an iPhone to run on those carriers.

The biggest issue I see is that if they're talking about having something by 2021, there are a lot of other companies in that space that will not be sitting still for the next 4-5 years. So Apple will have to come up with something significantly different...which I wouldn't put past them. However although Apple has specialized in turning products that weren't first to market into successes, turning products that are late to market into successes is much more difficult.

What really surprises me about Apple is that they're apparently letting themselves be outrun by companies involved in the intelligent home, as well as VR/AR. I would have thought Apple would have been working on both, and already have introduced products that are way ahead of the pack. Either they're working on something along those lines in extreme secrecy, or they're missing the boat. I would think the wired, intelligent home would be a natural for Apple.
