Remember when I wanted to record my acoustic but had issues?

Well, I finally sorted a few problems!

Here's a list: (I still have my beloved Larrivee and a Fishman Pro Neo-D Humbucking Acoustic Pickup.)

  • Native Instrument KA6 sound card: no more pops, crackles and clicks:
    • PC updated to Windows 10;
    • SSD hard drive added (much faster).

  • THR5A: low USB signal sent to computer:
    • Got a Dean Markley Ultrasound DI Plus (with phase inverter) preamp.

  • Ultrasound Di Plus: 9 V battery needed or (-) 9 V power supply (polarity inverted):
    • The Dean Markley Ultrasound DI Plus can be powered by the KA6's phantom power and it makes it very silent.

  • In need of a recording software:
    • Using Studio One 3 which is free and has lots of features. It's my favorite since Cool Edit Pro that is no more available;
    • Using Audacity which is free too, sometimes.

Now, I'm a happy cat! I'm going to be able to concentrate on learning/playing instead of getting audio-components to work together!

Now if I can get rid of that whooping cough that I probably caught at the hospital when I went for a test...
