Members panhandler
I'm experimenting recording in garage band on my ipad without any interface, just using the internal mic. I wonder if anyone else is using these and what type of interface your using? I think I can get cleaner sound if I use an interface, but I don't want to spring for the pricey Apogee models. Any CHEAPER options out there?
Members thankyou
There are lots of USB mics now. They don't require an interface. Edit: Sorry, I zipped past the post above, and do iPads have a USB port?
Members todoroki
Ive been recording on garageband for a few years. I used to just play acoustic through the speaker and it came out okay after a bit of post-processing. Recently I got an Apogee Jam first edition which was reduced in price after the second version came out. Actually sounds pretty decent and I've been pleasantly surprised by the results. Like you say, there are other similar interfaces out there which Im sure do the same job for cheaper but Ive been quite happy with the jam so far. Members Etienne Rambert
I record on my iPad. I use Auria - not GB. My interface is the Alesis i/oDock. Works great.Love it. Mic's? CAD c400s, RODE NT1. (not USB) I prefer the CAD. My next mic will be a CAD most likely.
Members katopp
1st Gen iPad here. I use the iRig interface for acoustic/electric and the internal mic for anything else. The mic ain't too bad for such a tablet. But there are special IOS mics, too....
Members onelife
The AudioBox iOne from PreSonus and the Focusrite iTrack Dock look good to me. I use an iPad 2 with an Apple Camera Connection Kit (which is actually a USB adaptor) with an AudioBox 1818VSL along with a CME Xkey via a powered USB hub. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AudioBoxiOne http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iTrackDock
