Members Freeman Keller
A lot of the guitars that I get to work on are, shall we say, not very impressive. I fix them because they are special to their owners, but sometimes I feel guilty charging them more that the guitar is worth (and my rates are pretty reasonable). But every now and then something kind of special crosses my bench - I've got two of them right now. One is a very nice 1974 D-35. It has a couple of small cracks in the side - the owner wanted them stabilized and filled. Everything you would expect in an old D35 - big full voice with a bass that rattles the windows. The other is the cutest little Takamine 00 - probably also from the mid '70's. It had a loose bridge and a crack in the top, the frets are worn almost to the fretboard which has some huge divots - but the neck angle is perfect and it has the sweetest little voice - I'm having a hard time returning it to its owner. I think I'll go back out to the shop
