The words Butt Probe are sarcastically meant for those who don't understand the uniqueness of the pedal. If you ever said to someone, stick it up your ass you know where Metasonix is going with it. It has so much gain it hums like your amps at 10. It's so loud it can't be set up for unity gain. It uses three 4BN6 tubes used as FM detectors in table radios and TV sets. One of the tubes is used for a filter that sweeps high frequencies of the signal. Your also given control of the tube's screen grid voltage creating secondary emissions and excelerating electrons to alter the distortion.
