What sucks is when you are making a post to a thread that is open and then hit the submit button only to find out that the thread had just been closed. Just happened to me on the Martin Hines thread. Add another one to the yet another thread closed file cabinet.

I have not ever bothered to post in any of these threads, but had a night with a few whiskies and thought it was fun. I actually the "TEH GODDY" knod from G-bus and was having a little fun spreading bogus, troll-like rumours in the aforementioned "Martin Hines thread." The rumour that I've heard from more than one person is that this forum's comedy content is maintained by ONE SINGLE PERSON that is a sock puppet posting under many, many monikers. The rumor states that the same person is posting as p120dUde, ADSR, chick korea, Martin Hines, Jeebus, BillyWa and possibly more. :D

My suggestion was that the forum should give up on the soap operas and go back to more music-oriented topics. But I guess an internet forum is an interactive source of personalized soap operas, evolving by the minute, controlled by one if not many puppet masters. It makes for very fun reading and time-wasting, if nothing else. But music topics are much better, please?

Regards,
Eric

Regardless, I cant waste any more time with on your childish bickering and conspiracy theories.

Furthermore, I'm sick and tired of you trying to sucker people into conversations such as this for your own aims, that is to squash all dissent about the OASYS. This thread is supposed to be unethical moderation practices, not your childish antics.

Spot on. Hines has this obsession to make himself feel good about his purchase.

It's startling.

The truth is, the Oasys controversy will never die if mods keep removing the threads. It only sets the stage for round two. There should be an Oasys thread that *never* has posts deleted unless it breaks the forum rules of:

1. mean spirited attacks
2. foul language
3. spam
4. porn

Mike, Mike, Mike... tell me why it seems you only show up when your little radar on your tinfoil hat beeps because someone uttered the forbidden word "OASYS".

Why do people slow down and stare at an accident? Why does violence and sexual content get the highest ratings on the news programs?

Come on, use some common sense.

Mike,

What has happened to you? In the past, you were willing to admit it when you realized you posted incorrect information.

According to the people I talked to,
Korg started complaining again to the mods.

A MODERATOR posted this later:

They did not ask to have it deleted.

How do you reconcile these two statements?

Mike51,

These two posts seem to contradict each other.

What's sadder is that I left my house over 7 hours ago (I work from home, so I'm here until at least 5 PM), I come back, and you are STILL going at it!

My Beetlejuice quote was meant as a compliment. That would be a good idea. In fact have an "I Agree" button that you have to click before you enter the thread, with those 4 terms.

But, what we've seen from KSS (for me anyway namely the dUde thread, which still chafes me -- don't get me started I've had a few beers) is that the mods (not Yoozer but some mythical Anderton) or other moderator (I'm sure I'll be banned but oh well) that has ONLY (at least according my recollection, as faulty as it may be -- weighed in O threads -- weild a heavy hand -- why delete a few pics of soccer girls when we can delete the whole thread. It's called killing an ant with a sledgehammer.

Mike, your quoted post makes sense. TOO much sense.

Since we NOW have the Moderator's attention Anderton, et al. where is the dUdE thread?

You can close threads and delete posts on threads regarding the OASYS but you cannot use the same surgical precision with the dUdE thread.

Pure Honky BS if you ask me.

I'm sure you'll crawl back under your rock until the next OASYS thread.

Signed

One pissed off KSSer (I could care less about the OASYS, I'm complaining about the dUdE thread here). You wonder why you don't see Birdie and others.

Agreed. :(

The dUdE thread was the pride and joy of KSS. Why did it have to go?

Perhaps a "bring back the dude thread" petition is in order.

Someone isn't telling the truth, obviously. I have heard from another moderator that Korg reps complain all the time. And Anderton just posted that he hears from Korg reps too *in detail*.

His statement a few posts back tells you all you need to know.

I don't have anything to gain or protect by lying about this situation. People with friends in the industry *do*. And people who try to justify their purchases will also go to those lengths.

The truth is, Korg has a proven track record of pullulating mods in other forums for any comments critical of them.

Eric if people worked at hard on music topics as they do putting effort in these threads everyone would be better off.

You heard Korg reps complain "all the time"? That IS NOT a specific statement regarding the removal of these posts, now is it?

So, if I understand you, you are going to believe someone telling you "Korg reps complain all the time" (a GENERAL NON-SPECIFIC STATEMENT) versus the specific statement below:

Korg exercised NO influence over the thread that was deleted. They did not ask to have it deleted.

I would like the "another moderator" you reference to appear on this thread and SPECIFICALLY state he knows FACTUALLY that Korg had those specific OASYS posts pulled.

Sorry, Mike, but I am very disappointed in your response.

That is completely false.

There are only two forums I know of where extremely strong anti-OASYS posts were deleted:

1. Sweetwater OASYS forum

-------------------------------------

Korg did NOT "have any threads pulled"; the Sweetwater moderators deleted posts on their own.

The PRIMARY action taken at the Sweetwater OASYS forum was the removal of posts by THREE people who had created THIRTY DIFFERENT IDs to complain about the OASYS (Sweetwater determined this by researching and matching the associated Internet IPs of the IDs).

Here is a perfect "test" for you:

-- Go to either the Sweetwater "MOTU" forum (or the Sweetwater "Digidesign" forum)

-- Start making extremely negative negative statements about MOTU products

-- Create 20-30 different IDs on that forum

-- Make sure you create at least 100 VERY negative posts

-- Make sure you include several "back and forth conversations" between some of the IDs you created (as if these were completely different people talking to each other).

In the situation above, I can GUARANTEE the following:

-- Korg will not be involved

-- the Sweetwater mods will take action (delete posts, ban the IDs)

Sweetwater is a music retailer, which means they are interested in selling gear, whether that be from Korg, Roland, Yamaha, Digidesign. Also, Sweetwater invested a significant amount of money in OASYS promotion on their website. Didn't you see all of the OASYS webpages they created with high-res pictures, interviews and even videos?

A retailer like that would NEVER allow that type of "negative spamming" to occur. A manufacturer doesn't need to exert any influence at all.

2. Irish Acts (now Korg Forums)

----------------------------------------

Again, Korg did NOT have any threads pulled. The moderators who own the forum (i.e. Sharp -- you know him) made decisions on their own. I thought the decisions made were extremely appropriate (i.e. banning you and Chris100/Jeebus/G-bus).

You know very well that the Korg Forum is a Korg enthusiast forum (since you had been a member FOR YEARS). Therefore, the moderators (and the forum members themselves) will always be biased towards ensuring that Korg is treated fairly. But of course you already know this.

In BOTH situations above, Korg exerted ZERO influence -- they didn't have to.

Good point. It's Friday and there's 8 pages of this neverending nonsense.

Folks, may you spend your weekend in a constructive fashion.
