Fuzz Factory = Instant Satisfaction...

I'm sure a lot of you already know this but I thought I'd share anyway...

Decided to jump on a Vexter Fuzz Factory yesterday before rehearsal out of the need to create some out of control noise in places. I got to play with it a bit in the store (kind of hard to really try something like this out with other people around :)), but I don't think the magic of this pedal really hit me until the rock commenced.

My chain consisted of: Tele>>Volume Pedal>>Fuzz Factory>>TS9-DX>>Phase 90>>DL-4>>Low input of a Marshall JMP 2203

The TS-9 was my main overdrive, but I'd kick-in that little Zvex pedal every once and a while and WHOA! It brought out an element in my playing that I'd never known existed--easily the best three hours of music I've ever played. I expected the pedal to sound cool, but I didn't think it would make me look that good...

I can't wait to actually spend some time with this thing...

Well I'm glad somebody is new to it too. I thought I was the last one :)

If I were to take a shot at a "Big Muff" type sound, I'd say Distortion maxed and Stabilty at about 12:00. Then again, I still have NO idea what I'm doing with it...

The sounds coming out of mine right now aren't like anything I've heard posted from anyone else. It's like it takes your "style" and amplifies it into something wild and fun. There are so many different combinations of settings on there that you're bound to find something unique within the context of your music...

Thank you guys for those settings. I've seen them before but forgotten where they were posted...

Of any pedal on the planet, the Fuzz Factory will give you "your own sound"

I can't believe I waited so long to go get one:)

It probably took me a year to really get good and used to the settings on my FF

I love the pitch control...Have you guys tried messing around with just the pitch control? I don't even play guitar at all and will just adjust the pitch with a long delay and it sounds like a fire engine siren

I also like to play really heavy open power chord stuff and pause without the gate dialed in...letting the pitch ring out in key with the chords I was playing over the pause...make sense? anyway..sweet stuff

You guys want to hear something really freaky?

So we get done playing this song, right? I have the Fuzz Factory, Phase 90, and the DL-4 (doing a pretty long, saturated delay) all on and didn't bother turning down my guitar volume.

It's pretty quiet and we're reflecting on the song we're working on when all the sudden we hear this lady speaking spanish in a really echo-ey, breathy voice--sounded like a ghost and as if she were in the other room. We're all looking around to see who it was when I figured out it was me picking up RF.

That voice sounded out of this world with the phase and delay going, but then I got the pitch controls going on the Fuzz Factory and the sound just blew my mind. I wish I'd recorded it...

Yeah, I've had a lot of fun messing around with RF and the rest of my pedals following. If I can be sure of getting it live, I'll try to bring it there. A bit hard to predict, but we'll see. Lots of fun though, and might be nice on recording.

Took me a while to get a feel for the FF too. I lent it to a friend for what turned out to be 5 months. Should be back home Monday. Can't wait to get back into it. Anyone catch the Chilli Peppers of SNL last night. Sounded like John Frucientellion-san (sp?) was rockin' FF on Give it Away.
