Members capnbringdown
I'm sorry, but I really do love watching it. The athleticism, the cheesy story lines.. I love it all. In 2005 I spent hundreds on Wrestling DVDs. I think I've got around 80 or so by now. As far as the shows go, these days I don't worry so much if I happen to miss one. It's just not like it used to be. Wrestling always just seemed kind of gay to me. Then again, I'm not much into sports, scripted or not. The Bears are going to the super bowl, and I really couldn't give a {censored}.Tv may be bad but are video games still acceptable?
Members Klisk
I recently got DVR, and I'm... Watching TV ~LESS~. I set the thing up to record shows I know I really enjoy, and now those are the only shows I watch. It's like it totally killed any desire to channel surf. If I want something to watch, it's sitting there on the hard drive for whenever I want to watch it. Now I find myself being able to record music and not worry about "Oh {censored}, it's 8pm, Full house is on. Gotta go rip off melodies from Stamos." I can totally just have that stored up on the DVR. Members comfortablynumb
Tv may be bad but are video games still acceptable? I rarely play them but I like to get a new one every once in a while. I finally got GTA: San Andreas, so I'm trying to beat it right now. After I do that, it'll probably sit there for a couple months unplayed.

Members Wilbo26
As little as possible. Luckily there is so very little worth watching these days that is a pretty small amount. It gets a little worse during football season, but I can usually do something else at the same time whilst the games are on.

Members inscho
The wife gets home around 4pm, and instantly turns on the TV, and doesnt turn it off until she goes to bed... Even while we eat dinner it's on, so I guess I'm sort of watching it, but not usually paying any attention to it.If i want to spend some time with her, the TV is usually on, which is quite annoying. This has been a source of fights in the past. Last night she wanted to play cards, but wanted to keep the TV on... Then when she goes to bed, she watches TV until she falls to sleep. TV actually gets me pissed off and makes me unable to sleep if i try to fall asleep with it on, so unless i'm looking to get laid, i usually have to let her fall asleep first, and then go to bed. this is almost the same situation with my girlfriend and I....I'm constantly trying to get out of the house with her so I don't have to listen to super nanny, a gameshow, or sitcom reruns... most of the time when she watches tv, I'll just sit in the room with her with my guitar plugged into headphones...so we can be around each other and I don't have to listen to all that {censored} on tv. but all in all I probably watch 3-4 hours a week of tv. Members jasonfuzz
House The Office The Daily Show Scrubs Mythbusters Dirty Jobs Kenny vs Spenny Prison Break (just getting into that) Arrested Development (same) All timed to turn to that channel. Otherwise I'll try and be on the computer or playing the guitar or my DS.
Members Brian Marshall
That's how people watch that much TV, they get home, turn it on, leave it on, let it dictate their attention. I've been to plenty of people's homes where the main living rooms are built around the TV and the thing is always on. It's pretty easy to see how they could clock up 30-50 hours a week that way. I suppose i see your point. I grew up in a house where we only had one TV. It was in the living room, and if no one was actually watching something it was off. Hell we didn't even own a VCR until 1989, and never had cable. I just get this picture in my head of families with a TV in every room, and mom, dad, and all the kids just sit there with their jaw dropped drooling unable to look away. God forbid the power goes out. They'd probably kill each other just to keep them selves busy.

She'll go, "I just want to be with you" or something as she's watching TV, because we're really together while she's watching TV and I'm sitting there wishing I could just go to another room and really do what I want. Usually I just tell her to watch her crap while I go upstairs and play guitar or dick around on the computer and then I come down later and we watch a movie. Members english_bob
Not a lot, generally. We don't have satellite, cable or anything, just the five terrestrial TV channels, which suck most of the time. I tried to keep up with Lost before it moved to satellite in the UK, but ended up losing the plot because I was out on the nights it was on. Aside from the news, which I watch pretty infrequently, I usually only watch TV if I want an evening of doing nothing, but generally I can't be bothered. Blockbuster get a lot of business from me and the wife though. We'd generally prefer to watch a film than waste an evening in front of whatever happens to be on, most of which is dumbed-down "Celebrity" {censored}e or "reality" bollocks. Members mumford
No cable and no time. I just can't sit there and watch that {censored}.
Members angelhair0
I watch TV once a week. Mostly because I accidently stumble across Family Guy, Simpsons, or something funny. Most of everything on TV is {censored}ing horrendous. Sex-centered (no, not porn, but shows with messages that completely degrade true meaning of sex and love), celebrity gossip bull{censored} (which is not our business), and tons of other shallow, meaningless, fake, mind-rotting {censored}. I hate TV so much, I hate Hollywood, I hate EVERYTHING!!! ARRRGHHHHH  Just curious here, because I'm absolutely sick of it. These days I watch maybe 4 hours a week of TV and that's because I try to catch wrestling (yes I still watch it) whenever I can. I used to just watch the late night shows, but I don't even care about them anymore. Used to watch The Simpsons on weekdays, but most nights I'm out of the house by 6:00 so I miss it anyway. I hardly ever catch the new episodes on Sunday. Every once in a while, I watch Futurama and Family Guy on Adult Swim. TV just irritates me more than anything. I'd hate it when we were in the living room having a conversation and someone decided to turn the TV on super loud just to see what's on. Not to mention that the TV world is completely overrun with reality shows, celebrity news, and Enzyte commercials. I just hate when someone sits there and just watches TV all day. It's probably no worse than me sitting on a computer for hours on end, but I'm not bothering anybody with the brainwashing noise of "Who's my baby's Daddy?" and "How much my favorite celebs spend on dogfood." Maybe I'm alone in this, but my TV just gets used for video games, wrestling, and the occasional movie. Otherwise, I could do without it just fine.. /rant
Members gil1
For me, it's probably on too much, but only gets my divided attention. We usually turn it on at about 8:00 and off about 11:00. I've got the laptop or a guitar usually, and my wifes reading half the time. And we're talking on and off, and muting the commercials. So more and more we ask "why is that on?" I think it's a foil for our ADD. But, I do like Earl, Scrubs, Psych, Monk, Las Vegas, Hustle, 30 Rock, Futurama. And we get Netflicks. I just can't sit there and watch that {censored}. I've gotten a lot more like that lately. Especially if I'm alone. I figure I'm better off spending my time chatting here or someplace else, or playing guitar or a video game, anything that involves something other than sitting on my ass staring at a screen. Every now and then some Zombie time is definitely great, but those times I usually just throw in a DVD. Its the commercials that really get to me. I hates them. I HATES THEM!!! It's the sound, they compress the {censored} out of it, and then add yelling, and even commercials about a florist or something manage to sound wound up. I wish there was auto mute for commercials. Members Brian Marshall
the other reason i find it hard to watch TV, is that my wife hates commercials... Fair enough right... Members vamp hunter d
I dunno, I'll have to disagree with those saying everything on tv is {censored}e right now. There are some tv shows which I like better than many of my favorite movies, such as the shield, rescue me, battlestar galactica, etc. Really depends what it is your watching, such as reality stations and entertainment news, but I can always find something on tv any time of the day that I enjoy watching.
