Just freshly recapped / refurbished and calibrated. (4 days total)

Great. Just as i was finishing calibration (few minutes ago) figured out the sustain at the VCA is dead (attack and release work). Looks like the CMOS chip is gone. Of course, no way to find the original one, the HD14007UB.

I found a replacement CMOS, a CD4007, but worry is it fast as original. Envelope is the most important part of this synth. Will test this {censored} tomorrow.

By the way, over 80% (!!) capacitors in this synth (prior to replacement) were either dry or leaked. I wonder how did it work at all.

I believe the 4000-series CMOS chips were all really slow, Don. That HD14007UB part number sounds like a Hitachi make, and probably just as slow as everybody else's 4000 chips at the time. I'll bet your replacement will work just fine.
:thu:

You will post some demos once it's all fixed up, yes?
:D

Of course.

As of CMOS. So far i found one pin-pin replacement. I guess it is time to ask experts, whether there are some "fast" CMOS chips. It would be fun to decrease response time for some ultra fast response.

Anyone knows what chip is Prophet 5 using for envelopes?
