I prefer Devi Ever's cooking to Zvex's

I was on holidays around the US so I decided to track down some cool guitar gear/pedal related people and write about them for my local music magazine.

I was staying with my Dad's friends in Minnesota, so I decided to see if I could meet up with Zvex. I told him I was writing articles on various pedal builders while I was in the US. He seemed very enthusiastic, almost a little lonely. I went around to his gaff, and he cooked me dinner.

What he made basically amounts to fish and chips. I appreciate the effort Zack, but not an awful lot of love was put into that dish. When I said the chips were a little bit dry, he mouthed off at me and kicked me out. What was worse is that he kicked me out of the room I was staying - when I called up to his place, he insisted on coming over with the dinner rather than having it in his place(his wife goes mad when she plays Wii Fit).

Zvex took over the room and I was unable to access my EEEPC(or the bathroom) for several hours. Eventually Room Service escorted him out.

Soon afterwards I went on a roadtrip to some little town near Portland. I bumped into Devi who was visiting relatives who ran a local corner shop. I told her the story with Zvex and she laughed, saying that she could do a much better job at the whole dinner thing. She gave me a lift to her place and showed me some of the new pedals she was working on, and we watched an episode of the new Haruhi series with Tom Dalton, who hangs around there when he's bored.

For dinner, she cooked the nicest Chicken Volovants, with gorgeous creamy sauce, and deliciouse home made wedges(normally I hate home made wedges, but these had all kinds of delicious spice). It reminded me of my mum's cooking a bit, but much more refined. It was delicious and afterwards we jammed with James Iha who had popped in to borrow Devi's hair straightener. He was also quite delicious.

Personally, I'd give Zvex another chance if he apologised but he has not to this day. Also, he ran off with my favourite Gigantor action figure, I paid a lot of money for that($60). While it was a unique experience, obviously I much prefered having dinner with Devi. She was much more charming and polite, and didn't pick her nose over the cooker.

this is cool but I like my Zvex story where they got him a Wolfcomputer for Christmas and he flipped out

You mean the one where he flipped out, cloned it, charged 300% for it over the original wolf computer, painted some crappy flowers on it, and then made a vexter version of it with different components made in a factory full of child laborers and then told someone that they can't compare another product to his $299 wolf computer clone, because he has a $179 made in taiwan version that sounds even worse than his $299 clone?
