I REFUSE to believe the street price will still be that high.

I just refuse.

I dont care if there are only 2000 or 20 of 'em -- thats too high of a cost considering what already is out there on fleabay...

plus they fix your old ones for FREE!!

After it's sat on the shelf for two years it'll be way cheaper. ;)

^^^^^^^

I noticed you can choose the LM308A or LM308N with the Hartman Distortion. What are the tonal differences between those two chips?

One is brighter than the other. I can't remember which is the darker and which is the other.

Anyway Theo is so kind that always answered to my dumb questions. Because the tele is trebly enough he adviced me the darker one!

I'm not really a rat fan. They sound great as a low gain overdrive for lead lines. I love the jazz guys that use em, and my friend bought my old one off my brother and has been sounding great with it. He has a jazzy style in a rock band and doesn't use a lot of gain. I don't like em for high gain and chords.

and that thing is way overpriced. Get a freakshow.

The lm308a's the big can I think?

The lm308n is the chip.

Dunno if there's ANY change in tone, but the lm308a can has got teh mojoz.

Apparently.

I did me some research. The chips are practically the same, but the AH is in a metal container and many people claim its more quiet. Same soup reheated in a different bowl.
