Best way to ship a pedal from the States to Canada?

USPS is the only option. If whoever is shipping will do it (and some will) get them to write warranty parts in description section. With UPS or Fedex the dreaded brokerage fees come into play. I once paid $65 brokerage on a $110 parcel.

Yeah, USPS is best. If the value is over a certain amount, UPS tacks on a rather high "brokerage fee" to the receiver - one time I had to pay $50 extra (on top of paying the regular shipping costs) on a mic ($150 value) UPS delivered from the US!
USPS does a fine job - it may take a little while at the border, but every shipment I've had from USPS has arrived, and in good condition.

For a pedal the shipping difference between Canuckistan/US should be pretty minimal as long as you don't send it in a box the size of a {censored}ing microwave.

And USPS all the way. UPS brokerage charges are plain silly. If you ship guitars, expect them to tack on about $200 for 'getting it through customs'.
