Members juri
anyone run their formula no 5 on 18v? does it make a big difference? Formula No 5 is not a Fuzz, it's an overdrive and there is a difference when you run it at 18v. Mainly that it starts breaking up later (more headroom). OD boxes can all be powered with higher voltage supplies to gain headroom, it's the nature of the circuit.

A Crunchbox should be able to run clean, and you can definitely run them 18v, which does make a difference.
Members macadood
whole point of dirt is for there to be some crunch/dirt - why would one want more headroom?

If you want to play louder without adding more crunch or totally saturating your sound.
Members Johansolo
I've been using my Crunch Box again for the past few days too. What amp are you using? Jet City JCA20H
Members sommy
Much tighter, more headroom on higher voltage settings. Yeah, probably less dynamic, but so much more clear.
