Members Ryan.
I've been going to the local rock climbing gym lately and it has me entertained. Renting climbing shoes does not have me as entertained. Where is a good place to shop for climbing shoes? Any recommendations?

Members Edkoppel
do you have an REI where you are located?they also have an online store. they're pretty good for all kinds of outdoorsy sports gear, and if you become a member (which is a 1-time $20 fee) then they hook you up with cool deals, and you can get back 10% of your purchases at the end of year and all kinds of other stuff. Members Capsule
make sure you find a place with real climber that can help you size them correctly. Too big or too small and they will hurt or be useless.
Members loosegroove
Yeah, isn't there an REI in Sac town? They are a good place to go, have knowledgeable staff, and sometimes even have some sweet clearance deals. I bought my $100+ shoes on clearance for I think around $50 from the San Francisco REI. Members Ryan.
i'll make sure it says that. and you bought them but they aint comfy?? They aren't supposed to be. Its kinda annoying. They are built for a specialized purpose and the purpose isn't comfort.

Members guitardustin
They'll break in a bit bra. After a month or so of sweat/blood/toe gunk they will bill pretty tolerable. Rock climbing is fun as {censored}

I'll be sure only to wear my shoes when I'm bouldering in Yosemite or desolation wilderness. In the gym I'll put on my tap dancing shoes.

Hiking, rock climbing, bouldering, scrambling, kayaking, white water rafting are outdoor things. You're supposed to be exploring a world away from your comfortable shopping malls, ymcas, and starbucks. Not hanging with the my new haircut bros & soccer moms and playing grab ass in the locker room afterwards.
