I've got an AL-3000 w/P-90s and an AL-3100 (only difference is inlays) w/ buckers- seriously nice guitars, not just "for the money". The standard AL neck is kinda like an Epi neck- somewhere between the Gibson '50s and '60s profile. I think they're 1/16" narrower, too.

I really like the AL3K stock alnico pickups, the AL2Ks are ceramic. This chart gives you the differences between the 2K and the 3K:

I've had an al-3500 for about 7 years now and it's still my go to guitar! great guitar for the money. Mine came with seymour duncan pickups and locking tuners on it, but i imagine those would probably be the things to upgrade if it were needed. It now has a pickguard on it but here's a photo:

Agreed, thus the AL-3100 with MOP.


However, I scored a good deal on an AL-3000 and realized I don't spend that much time looking at the fretboard anyway.
