Members FLYING V 83
We used to a lot back in the 80s, but now it's nice having at least one weekend day to myself. Make sure you have enough material to cover two nights without repeating if it's the same bar/crowd.

Members Sordid1
we just did that the weekend before last and while the not unloading thing was great not being home for the family most of the weekend sucked. Now if this was my only job that would be fine but I was hurtin all week after it. The second one was out of town and I may have drank a bit too much after the show but I really can't remember now

Even if they are both local I don't really like doing it with or without drinking but I will do it if need be. Usually the second night my chops are really good too since my fingers are really limber from doing a show.

Members aortizjr
So back to back you mean one night then the next night. Those are fun, I do them all the time. I wish I could do them more. Especially for a while (ie. tour). When I was doing the bar scene, I did them a lot. At first they tore me up, but after I got in shape, they weren't so bad. Now two in one night or day is sorta rough. I have done a few of those. Or playing in two bands on the same bill. I think my worst day was, play in a small church folk thingy in the AM. Play in a coverband for a Wedding that afternoon. Then I had an opening slot with one band. Then a 2nd to last spot down the street with another band. It was fun, but pretty much took the whole next day to recover.

Members cauberallies
I have played three shows in one night.... One was on guitar, one I played with two bands. One set on drums and one set on guitar...then I went and filled in on bass for a friend that was out of town. 4 sets in one night at age 16....I'm pretty much a rockstar or something. Members killshot
Played 5 shows in 2 days a while back - I couldn't even walk right after that weekend! I'm gigging with two bands now, so many of my gigs now are back to back 1 hour sets, with a 10 min break in between to switch backlines

Members Karma1
A few years ago I was in a band that had two gigs on the same afternoon in two different towns about an hour away from each other. It was a 4th of July and we played one outdoor festival, then packed up drove to the other outdoor gig and got there moments before we were supposed to go on. Luckily there was a house PA set up so we didn't have to deal with that. But it was nerve-racking, not to mention that it was about 105 degrees that day and totally broiling up on that stage in the mid-day sun.

I've done hundreds of mutli-nighters. I've never done the back to back gig at one club in one night. I have done a number of afternoon/evening gigs at different places, which is kinda tough with a 2-2 1/2 hr setup time and 1-1 1/2 hour teardown.
