Members tlbonehead
I'd venture to guess that maybe half of the blues/rock/pop acts use 1/2 step down tuning at least some of the time. I saw an old Toad the Wet Sprocket live clip where one of them forgot where they were at and started out FALL DOWN with a guitar tuned one way and the rest of the band came in tuned the other way(can't remember which but it obviously sounded hideous) They had to stop the song and switch one guitar. Members Exocaster
All Opeth albums before Ghost Reveries are in E standard. Ghost Reveries is in the DADFAD tuning. Back on topic...Morbid AngelCannibal Corpse Yeah, Opeth is mostly E standard, with the odd drop D song (Demon Of The Fall, Blackwater Park). Ghost Reveries is mostly in open D minor. (IIRC, a couple tracks are in drop D, and Hours Of Wealth is in standard.) Do Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse really count, though? Outside of their earlier material, they're 7 string guys. Trey is the first player outside of Vai I can think of who adopted the seven string; he was using it before Petrucci was...
Members HeimBrent
Nah, post Black Album. Last time I checked, the black album were recorded in Eb? At least that has been my theory on why it sounded out of tune when I've played to it on my standard E-tuned guitar...
