Members vicknott
I need a bridge pickup for my Ibanez SZ520 that can manage B tuning well. So I want a tight, but full/organic sound, with lot of clarity. Ideas ?
Members HumanFuseBen
i love the Duncan JB thats in my Schecter Blackjack, which also has a mahagony body... it has a nice tight sound without being too hot. With the right settings on an amp, you can get a nice Adam Jones-y vibe out of it. Very punchy and clear.
Members nakedzen
Lundgren M6, sounds huge in mahogany guitars. It's a bit too dark with dark sounding amps though. There's some M7 (7-string version) clips in my sig.
Members heath
Dimarzio EVO. I love mine in my les paul.
Members FrontEndLoader
Check out the Hellion in my sig. If you want to hear what it can do check out Decrepit Birth. Matt Sotelo uses the pair I have. Also check out http://www.stanhinesleypickups.com/

Members Chrisjd
{censored} the JB, the duncan distortion is such a better option for downtuning in mahogony.
Members Killzone
Dimarzio drop sonic. Find exafro on the forums here and check his soundclick page, B tuning also, great clips!!!

Members DracoAran
The tightest you will find without going active is the Duncan Full Shred. Otherwise a Duncan Distortion or Dimarzio Evolution. I can't even begin to imagine why people are throwing Duncan JB's in there as "tight". Members scottcrud
+1 for the WCR Iron Man....but then again the Iron Man would make a 2x4 sound good!
Members colejustesen
I am debating on this subject as well. I really thought either the Seymour Duncan Full Shred or the Seymour Duncan Custom Custom. I think I would pair up the Custom Custom with an Alnico II Pro or Pearly Gates. Have any of you tried the Custom Custom at all? Cole
Members pretaanluxis
If you want full and organic get a SD 59', but it's not really tight..
Members OverDriven
Dimarzio Megadrive. Sounds EVIL You have to get them either on ebay or by calling Dimarzio. It is no longer sold as one of their standard pickups, but they still make them. Install with the blade towards the bridge. Trust me...best bridge pickup I've found. Members nakedzen
I disagree the jb is good pup but it does get muddy on downtuning on mahogany, cause it's very middy and soft sounding the invader is muddy in any tuning I have to disagree with you both. After using both pickups extensively I highly prefer Duncan Customs and Lundgren over those two. Neither of those are clear sounding by any stretch of imagination. IMO of course.
