Took off work and headed down to Bloomington, IL with the g/f and best friend. We met up with my brother who goes to school down there and hit the Reverend Horton Heat show. The opening back kind of sucked. They were pushing the redneck trucker thing a little too far, but The Rev killed! We were right up against the stage and right in the middle. There really wasn't any pushing going on so it made the show so much more enjoyable. Anyway, the pics....! Jimbo having a smoke before the show.... Terry, Me and my bro warming up before the show... Making eye contact with the band through the whole show was awesome. Makes the show feel so much more intimate. The Rev was posing for the g/f's pics through the whole show... The g/f (BottomHeavyKate) and me right after the show... Jimbo signed and them bummed smokes off of my buddy Terry... Mike, my bro, who is an upright bass major at school talking bass with Jimbo... A roadie gave the the setlist and Jimbo was cool enough to sign it... It was hands down the best show I've ever been too. The guys seems like the coolest guy you could ever hang out with. Members MattACaster Posted August 24, 2009 Author Members Share Posted August 24, 2009 Saturday- Kate and I hit the HC Bass Forum get together on our way up to Waukegan for Sunday's festivities. Catphish and Mrs. Catphish was awesome enough to host the event at their place. They had people flying in from all over the place for the event. We had to split before the festivities really got going but I met a lot of really cool people including our own pamackie. But thanks to Catphish and his lady for having us out that. Great people, the both of them. Sunday- Salmon fishing on Lake Michigan! Boat left the dock at 5am. But it was a great time and we now have a freezer full of salmon and trout. We went with the g/f's parents, sister and bro in law and had a blast! The g/f and the biggest catch of the day. (Brown Trout) Me and the second biggest catch! All up until the next morning... 3 beers at the show. Then, 3 jack and cokes, 2 shots of Jamison and 3 Apple Pies (which I guess has Everclear in it) afterwards at my bro's bar. I had the pleasure of seeing then meeting the Rev and Jimbo at the warped tour like ohhhh a decade ago (98/9 maybe?)!!! They were one of the BEST bands the whole day/night. Bested only by Rancid and Bad Religion. Glad you guys had a blast man and thanks for sharing those pics. Long live the Rev. and Jimbo KNOWS how to play bass.
