Have you considered trying Internet Explorer 8? IE8 is safe to download and has many security advancements. Have you seen the recent study conducted by NSS Labs that names Internet Explorer 8 the best browser for protecting consumers against malware and phishing attacks?

You can see the entire NSS study at
http://nsslabs.com/browser-security

Or read more about it here:

Hmmmm.

So this report - paid for by Microsoft - gives that info. They start with 1100 URLs then narrow it down to 460 that IE8 blocks.

Yet they won't give out the URLs...

So, Kate - got n00dz?

Can I use Chrome on OSX?

Yes. It's fairly stable but still has some bugs and is a bit behind the Windows version in features. I don't like it all that much on OSX, it just fits Windows 7 much better somehow.

Safari uses the same great rendering engine as Chrome. In fact it's Webkit engine is probably the most advanced rendering engine at the moment. But as we know, Safari's user interface is about as crappy as IEs and its features are barely average too.

The only thing that makes Firefox good is that it has a good addon system. I find that to get it customized for my needs I have to have about a dozen addons and then it's a far cry from the stock browser. I may consider Chrome as soon as it has a good ad blocker and Xmarks bookmark/password syncing.
