Members kwakatak
I apologize if this is a redundant topic. I know this has come up many times before, but I know it's been awhile and I couldn't find anything by searching. I'm just through paying $15 for a set of strings that I know I can get for half that online. IMO that's pretty steep for a "convenience tax". Yes, it's gotten so bad for me that I can't even support my local dealer for strings!

Also ordered DR's Rare bronze's for six bucks and change and D'Addario PB's for less than 6 bucks. If you want cheap however, there is Webstrings, and their prices cannot be beat. For three bucks or so a set you can change them weekly if you're so inclined! I am using them these days on my electric and reso, but prefer the branded PB's from DR, D'Addario and of course those wonderful Newtones, on the Paragon MJ and D35. If you want to try Newtones you can get them cheap. $7.75 per set if you order 6!!, from Guitar Gallery. http://www.guitargal.com/strings.htmlWhen's your wife gonna let you get a new guitar? Members seven7
i always buy online. shipping at some places is higher than others, but of course you don't get a sales tax if you buy from someone who doesn't have a store presence in your state usually. i'll usually compare current prices at diff places and see who has the best deal at the time. these are my usual suspects:http://www.stringitup.comhttp://www.fqms.comhttp://www.juststrings.comhttp://www.musiciansfriend.comhttp://www.elderly.com

Have you been good this year? Thanks for the links! I had been on webstrings before but lost the bookmark for it. I use Martin SP 80/20 mediums and from what I remember they were pretty cheap there. The store nearest to me charges $12 for them which is just insane IMO. BTW, no budging on the new guitar I'm afraid. I'm a stay at home dad now so there's not as much money to spare. I'm trying to be extra nice though by being a combination of "mister fix-it", a doting father and a loving housewife! My wife comes home to dinners on the table that aren't even burnt anymore! She still plays deaf though. It must have been because I threw my red sweater in the wash with her nice white sweater!

Neil, you have been such a good home dad that Santa should not overlook you this December! Start putting in a hint for a 03 series Larry. That's hardly an extravagent request, after all. That way I wouldn't have to wait as long or stare at the box in anticipation while it acclimated for 12 hours!
Members kwakatak
I just wanted to thank you for the link to juststrings.com, 54merk and seven7! I just put on a set Martin SP Fingerstyle (.012-.054) and I love them. Judging by what they list for on www.juststrings.com I paid waaaay to much - like 3X as much from the mom and pop shop down the street! FOr $5.95 for shipping on a set of strings that cost the same I'm guessing that it's best to buy in bulk, huh?
Members Gui(ld)tar
Shipping seems pretty steep from Just Strings. Has anybody tried Maverick Music?http://stores.ebay.com/Maverick-Music
Members knockwood
Probably redundant by this point, but here's another vote for juststrings.com... They have just about everything & prices are very good particularly if you buy a lot at once - which I do, 'cause I'm cheap... Have also ordered from music123 a few times & have found them quick & trouble-free as well.
