I'm not sure how penned "Weeping Willow Blues" though I'm familiar with Bessie Smith version.If you haven't noticed at 1:44 you can hear Mike's dog drop his ball to the floor and starts growling and barking, I guess he wanted to go out and play. Re: D-55 I'm coming back to the States for a few weeks and I'm gassin'really bad for a Tacoma-made D-55. I don't know if I'll resist. My plan is to bring my 1977 D-40 back to be restored by the same luthier who restored my 72 D-25. But I'm gassin' bad right now. Can't fit a dog into my life at present though. Let me know when you make it State side I'll re post those videos, sorry you can't see them Marcellis. I wasn't gassin for a D-55 but I am now! Michael owns three D-55's and they all sound so different. The one in the video I posted is a '07 tea burst Tacoma model, his '81 sunburst D-55 is a Westerly, and another Tacoma blond D-55. I think he has a jumbo Guild (F50R '71) as well. Will you be able to take pics of the D-40 restoration process, I would be interested in seeing it or a least some of the process. I'm not sure I can take pics of the work. The shop is walking distance from where I live, (damned dangerous walking through traffic), a lot of the work is done out of the shop though in a district called "Go Vap". It's so far away, I won't take pics of that. It takes 45-minutes or an hour to get to Go Vap on motorcycle. It's city traffic all the way, a real pain, especially during the rainy season. I haven't heard Wayfaring Stranger in years - forgot just how much I like that one. One of my cats often reaches out with a paw to help me "strum" and the furry one is quite the music critic. Nice touch with this song: His version of "Winter Wonderland" reminds me a lot of Steve Goodmans version...except of course Steve puts his usual magical lead work on top of it.....while singing, at twice the tempo.
