Members DarkHorseJ27
The two types of glue I mainly hear to use on nuts are titebond and 50/50 white elmer's and water. Is one better than the other, or do they more or less do the job equally well?

Members DarkHorseJ27
Glue? Doesn't string tension hold the nut in place? Yes, it is mainly the string tension that holds it down. But there is supposed to be just enough glue to keep it in place when there isn't any string pressure on it.
Members seagullplayer77
When the nut on my Seagull popped off, I put it back on with some Elmers wood glue, and I didn't dilute it at all. As has already been mentioned, you don't need anything super strong. As a matter of fact, it's better not to have something potent (i.e. Super Glue) in case you need to remove the nut for a repair or a replacement.I'd just put thin bead of Elmers wood glue on there. That'll do ya just fine !
Members Opa John
About one little drop of Elmer's white is all you need.
Members Freeman Keller
One or two drops of either CA or white is just fine. All you want to do is hold it in place when all the strings are off. You want to be able to smack it with a small mallet to get it out if you ever want to work on it. Members Grant Harding
I use a couple of little dots of whichever is closer - CA or LMI Instrument glue. I don't agree with not putting any glue in there because it's so easy to do and the last thing you want in the heat of battle is the nut to budge.
