Members gitnoob
Don't get frustrated. Just think of it like one of those arcade games where you're trying to grab a teddy bear with claws and release it at the right time. Gravity might help. Align it with the hole and then inflate a balloon inside to push it through.
Members recordingtrack1
Hey Chordchunker, Try this. (It is what I was trying to tell you last night but I was doing a poor job of it.) 1. put a long sturdy string through the jack hole into the body of the guitar. 2. look inside the f- hole and find the string. 3. fish it out through the f-hole with your hook thing. 4. grab the jack with the wire hook thing 5. pull it out through the f-hole 6. push the string through the jack just like you are plugging a guitar jack in it.(or other imagery as you may desire ) 7. tie a washer onto the end of the string: -------------\\\----------> string............jack.............direction > string............jack...........washer (forgive my stupid little blueprint, but it came out better than I thought it would. ) 8. pull the string slowly back through the jack hole until it snugs up agains the jack 9. continue pulling on the string until it pulls the jack through the proper hole. 10. Wiggle it tight then put on another washer and screw on the nut. 11. Tighten to taste 12. let the string fall inside the guitar 13. use the hooky thing and pull the string out of the guitar. 14. thank me later! Members Chordchunker
FIXED! I used an old stiff piece of wire I bummed off of my neighbor. Worked like a charm and I didn`t break/scratch/dent anything!
Members Terry Allan Hall
This will work. Pull the jack assembly throughthe F hole and stick the coat hanger or stiff wire through the jack hole and up through the F hole to mate them. Keep in mind there's probably a lock washer inside the body on the jack. You'll need to shake it out through the F hole and reinstall it before threading the wire through the jack. Be careful not to break any of the solder connections on the jack. It's not hard, just tedious. Not really all that tedious...I've got a "pre-made pull-wire" at my work-bench for just such jobs, and use it from time to time. Once you've done it a few times, it takes about a minute to execute.
