Members the stranger
Do they make a large format console with the cup holder built in? Or do you usually end up getting some quality woodwork done when you install a million dollar console? You could just set it on one of those folding tables...ya know? The coffee, too! I can get one of those for about $15. Might as well save a few bucks on the deal. If it has that cushy top, it should help cut down on any comb filtering or other little nasties caused from nefarious reflections.

Members jackcheez
Far enough away that the coffee doesn't spill on the console?I was in the main room with headphones on one time when the unthinkable happened in the control room. I heard this hissing noise get louder and louder... Session over.

At the first studio where I interned, I watched as the lead engineer knocked his styro cup (not a big one, thankfully) onto the last eight or ten channels of a Neotek Series IIIc...one hour before a session.I earned some wings, that day.Funny thing is, he and I had been seriously talking about adding a button on some blank panel space, solely for the purpose of starting the coffeemaker, just a couple of weeks before. That idea lost some steam.
