after a *really* long hiatus from reading this forum, this is what I've bought in the last 6 months:

sovtek big muff (black)

boss super chorus

roland cube 15

weber blue dog (for my C30)

new set of jj el84's (ok, these don't really count since the tubes were worn out)

'90 heritage h150cm

I did sell a digitech xp100 whammy-wah that I never used.

Lets see:

Peavey 6505+ (modded by JerryP) - $1000

My last head, the Laney, diddnt have the muscle i needed in the gain dept. Plus the 6505+ was quieter, louder and more versatile.

Gibson SG Classic - $814

I bought it because i sold my ESP Viper to my bandmate. Plus i grew to like the sound of P-90's over HB's for metal.

Gibson SG case $100 - Needed a case.

Seymour Duncan Custom P-90 - $70

Stock bridge pickup in my Classic was to loose for palm mutes, this pickup fixed that and retains a very sweet P-90 tone.

Two Marshall MF208 (Mode 4 4x12's with custom Celestion V30's) - $1000

I needed two 4x12's. These cabs rock and are expensive, they werent expensive for me. Bought used in like new condition.

I'm usually pretty well GAS-resistant, but then I read about the Epi Valve Jr head, and kinda went on a spree (for me...I'm sure it'd just be a hiccup for some of you guys). Anyway...

Epi Valve Jr. Head

SS 2x10 Cab from eBay

2 Jensen P10Rs from eBay

New EH 12AT7 tube

Used Sylvania JAN 12AX7 tube

Guyatone MD3 Delay

Digitech Digidelay

Digitech Bad Monkey

...and some cords

I'm not gonna add it all up (again, not that it's much for some of you, but way more than I'm accustomed to)...and anyway, the fed tax refund got mailed on the 28th, and it's over $3K, so it's all good.:thu:

Month? How about week? My birthday was the 25th, so I guess I can justify it all that way.

1. Last Friday - H&K Rotosphere on eBay

2. Saturday - EHX POG on TGP

3. Thursday - Zoom Tri-Metal on MGR's site

4. Friday - recoup some expenses day, apparently

a. Jackson Rhoads EX w/ EMG 85s (everything but the pickups has already been sold)

b. Boss DD6

5. Saturday - Maestro PS-1A ($10 at a yard sale :^p )

6. Monday (today) - '70s Guild S300 (if it's still there), possibly a couple other things

Best damn purchase I made so far

This is actually something I've been considering, as I never really get a chance to crank my amp for recording, as much as I'd like to. Do you have any clips of your amp with/without it?

Obviously I have no right to tell anyone how to spend their money, but do people ever considered doing something worthwhile with their funds, such as donating to a charity -- rather than buy their twelfth electric guitar using the rationale that it was 10% off and is a different color than anything in their collection?

Yuck.

I bought an Epiphone in February. It's my first electric, and my last for a very, very long time.

Well ain't you noble.

I, on the other hand, decided to shun the charities and gassed me a Jackson SL-1 Soloist in trans black.

I considered this purchase to be a worthwhile use of my funds.

AtomHeartMother, is that you?

Seriously you're in the wrong forum for that kind of talk. If you want to talk about giving money to charity, you should go find a charity forum. This is a forum for discussion Electric Guitars and their various accoutrements.
