Julian Irwin missing...

Family members gathered at his home Tuesday night. They said he was recently involved in a Nigerian Internet offering.

"He did receive a check in the mail last week for $50,000," said Sharon Riolo, Irwin's sister. "That frightened him. All of the sudden it became a little bit scary."

Authorities said Irwin returned the check.

:( Lesson #1 - don't reply to any Nigerian scam emails. :(

I hope he's found safe and sound.

I thought that "Nigerian internet offering" comment was a joke until I read the actual article.

Eee-yow.

It looks pretty dark but I hope it's not too late to hope he comes out of this okay.

I was wary of saying anything while the guy might actually be in danger... but I have to say that this smelled fishy from the word "go"...

I was thinking more along the lines of a faked disappearance (perhaps to evade a collapsing house of cards lifestyle) rather than a paranoid breakdown, but there was just something about the description of the phone call...

... and what kind of savvy music biz professional would fall for the Nigerian Scam -- of all things?

How long could someone that gullible last in the LA music biz?

My guess is about 8-1/2 minutes...
