Members GuyCabellero
Curious if anyone has tried linking two P90's together like a humbucker. What are the results?

Members Hunter6
Slightly different from a humbucker, I'd assume. It'd probably sound a little fatter and thicker than a standard humbucker.

Members axegrinder
Is the OP talking side-by-side P90's?I believe it's called a flux capacitor...and it will likely disrupt the time/space continueum, Marty!!...otherwise it's just hum cancelling singles. Members 's mel gibson
You get a guitar with a pair of single coils and you select the middle position with your selector switch!
Members Wyatt
You get a guitar with a pair of single coils and you select the middle position with your selector switch! Not the same. A stock 2xP90 guitar will be wired with the P90's in parallel. To mimic a humbucker, you would wire them in series. As to the OP, you would probably get a hot, muddy sounding PU if you made a humbucker from two P-90's. HB's already get pretty blurry in the midrange because of their width, that would be increased with the extra width of P90's. Not to mention that there would be 4 magnets running though the piece (a traditional Gibson-style HB is not two SC's put together, but two coils that share one magnet between them). Members Zurich17
A phumbucker, obviously. I've just got the one (Dream 90 neck) but it does sound pretty apocalyptic as is
Members grooveHT
if you wire them in series, technically they may blow your pants off. In series maybe two p-90s would be a little too thick? just taking a guess
