Members FUBTAG
Morning all..... What do you think of this item: http://cgi.ebay.com/LUTHIER-GUITAR-PARTS-FRET-END-BEVELING-FILE_W0QQitemZ220115151610QQihZ012QQcategoryZ7266QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I am looking for an 'ALMOST' foolproof way of finishing sharp fret ends. Has anyone purchased on of these? Thoughts?

Members jdjonsson
How do you keep from sanding your fingerboard edge? Or do you not worry about it, and polish it up after sanding? I'd sure like one if they work good.
Members dcindc
That tool is really for beveling the ends of the frets from their raw cut shape. It is not intended to file sharp fret ends like you would get on a production guitar. If you are really picky about that, an emory board and patience is a good way to go. Members dcindc
No beer! Bright light emory boards Careful You are only filing the end of the fret. I find filing up can break the sharp edge off quicker, then a few downstrokes and it's fine. You are not running it up and down the neck, but vertically on the fret.
