Members Fendercaster
Man, that sucks. Such a distinctive voice, he certainly stood head to head with the other artists of the 60's. I'm certainly sorry to see him go.

Members Alndln2
Very odd. I just saw an interview with him less than a year ago and he seemed very healthy and fit for his age,and he remarked about excersizing and staying in shape. It was also cool to see he had some sort of DAW setup in house based on a Computer(couldn't reall see what kind because of the photo angle). Anyway, sad to see this talent go for whatever reason. R.I.P.
Members blue2blue
One of the TRULY great teen angst songs... Although I have to admit that I liked the way I heard the line: "... before this craven, granite planet falls apart... " ... much better than the apparent actual line, which is "... before this clay and granite planet falls apart..." I LOVED that song when I was a kid of 9 or 10 and I was in WAY over my had watching the movie it came from... whoa boy. Anyhow, Gene did a bang-up job on the song and I can't imagine ANYONE doing a better job, ever. (And, heaven knows I've made a few stabs at doing an inferior version. It's a toughie.) RIP, Gene.
