Yup. Good old Hank Marvin inspired plenty of musicians in the UK. Made everyone want to get a fiesta red strat like his (he is noted to be the first to have a strat in the UK).

When I saw the thread title I instantly thought "The Shadows".

Imagine my delight when I turned out to be correct!

I love the Shadows and I love playing their tunes - especially the old favourites "Apache", "FBI" & "Wonderful Land".

Booker & the MGs are great too, but it's worth noting how many legendary British guitarists cite the Shadows as their reason for picking up the guitar.

Them sceptic tanks don't know what they missed out on with this bunch - same goes for The Jam.

In the last clip with Marvin, the guy is talking about mating the neck and body.
The vibrations going in the same direction vs opposing each other make a good guitar or
mediocre one.
So, how do the pieces mate to produce a good one?
Maybe take this up in another thread?

I love the Shads, Ventures, Dick Dale, Duane Eddy, and all who rock out on Instrumental guitar. Thanks to a friend in England who sent me some Shads stuff long ago. Their pure sound is food for the soul. Started out in '60 collecting all the Ventures LP's with others mixed in. Still love'em.

Thanks to these folks and all the others who've kept RI going all these years.
