Members SamsDaddy
+1 on Blue Sky. I am working it out note for note, and I have about 2 minutes of the around 3 minute solo worked out and practiced up to speed. Usually after listening to a solo enough times to have it practiced I get really sick of it. But after about what must be several thousand listens of Blue Sky, I still cannot stop listening to it constantly. Not only is it my favorite solo, I think it is probably my favorite complete song of all time. Allman Bros were and continue to be one of the most ass kickin' bands around. Members whatever
Eruption. That's a good one. I nominate Boston's 'Long time'.
Members whatever
I like Eruption, but not so much as a piece of music as a party trick or just plain wankery. It's more than that. It's a revolution.

Members Killa J
Paul Gilbert - solo after the intro to "Technical Difficulties" on his "Terrifying Guitar Trip" video. It's like a shred version of the Comfortably Numb outro solo. Unfortunately, I can't view Youtube at work, so this one's from Google Video. Members Minning Around
Roy's Bluz by Roy Buchanan on his live LP, Livestock. The opening notes give me goose bumps every time. Eruption I never did get. Impressive yes, but where's the soul? Way over-rated, IMO.
Members MONGOOZ
i'm not saying that i endorse what eddie is doing now....but eruption pretty much changed the way guitar has been played ever since then.....although...sultans of swing is a bad ass solo....and has nothing to do at all with the van halen prototype.......and brian setzer's "sleepwalk" which is pretty much an entire solo song is pretty bad ass.....oh hell...there's a bunch of 'em.....
