Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted January 21, 2009 Author Moderators Share Posted January 21, 2009 You've got my wheels spinning on this idea. Antique white, ebony board, maybe best with chrome hardware, open coil PAFs, TOM bridge with stop tail piece and no pickguard. Simple yet killer. I would buy that.I'd add a pickguard, but many wouldn't, and I'd swap the pups etc out, but the body colour with that fretboard is a killer combo
Members cratz2
I think if it was antique white, I'd prefer it with a pickguard. If it was WHITE white, maybe no pickguard. I'm not a shredder at all, but I've definitely never really thought of Explorers or Vs as shred guitars.

Members Shenaniganizer
That stripe scheme is something similar to what I want to paint onto my Kelly.Inspired by Jabs, I always thought his guitar was cool as hell, and I enjoy his playing. sexy guitar, that is. Members _pete_
So, now there's another seller claiming he's selling one of Matthias' Explorers: Interesting. The serial # brings up this:Your guitar was made at theNashville Plant, TN, USAAugust 28th, 1984Production Number: 38 If it is like he says, he should be able to provide some documentation of the donation to the Hard Rock Cafe and his purchase of it.If it were mine, I would have also tried to get a pic of Jabs playing this actual guitar. If he did meet Jabs and discussed the guitar, why didn't he have him sign something that backs up the claim.
Members Armitage
There was a Mathis Jabs model that was SIMILAR to the one he played that looked like that. No pickguard and different control layout...
Members triton76
I saw him play a gtr just like it on the Love at first sting tour. Great show. 'No one like you" has some great licks in it.
