Paul works in the recorded sound division of the National Archives, figuring out how to play and copy stuff from cylinders on up, both audio and video. His "office" is a museum of old recording gear. Unfortunately, being the underfunded Government, much of it (both the gear and the Government) is in need of repair and overhaul. Paul is the son of Mike Cogan of Bay Records. Mike and I have been friends since high school (I'm at his house in the Bay area now) and he's probably the reason why I got into recording and certainly the reason I started playing the guitar.
