Years ago I left my main AND backup guitars at a club. I popped em in the cases and threw them in the band gear area. Got home and facepalmed hard. That's when I started a gear checklist

          Tu-2 tuner

          Several handheld tuners

          Guitar stands

          Sigh...

Forgot my pedal board once when I had a bunch of people helping me on load out. But I was 10 minutes away from the club when I just felt something wasn't quite right. Pulled over, took an inventory and quickly drove back.

My other guitar player has left his entire orange rig at this venue twice. Got it back the next day both times. I leave a stupid bag and its gone. I guess a bag is less conspicuous.

I think I've lost more mic and guitar stands than I've bought. True story.

Cables for sure. Guitar stands too. I have no idea how I've lost guitar stands but it's happened like twice.

The community here was awesome but the digs & spirit of the place has been in decline ever since it became a business venture rather than a simple collective and this latest gong show really brought the chickens home to roost.Necessity is the mother of invention, ergo: www.guitarampboard.com.So long and thanks for all the fish, love izzy.

A few cables and a tuner is about all I have lost/had stolen. Had a drunk guy try to pickup 2 of my guitars and walk out during a break once. He didn't make more than a few feet before he was grabbed. Since then I'm overly careful.

I know the exact feeling you're talking about, and it can be a lifesaver. And yeah, the people helping you load out thing often results in things not making it to the car; for that reason I always remind myself that I am responsible for all my gear and just because someone's helping, even if its a band mate and they know exactly what I have with me, it's still up to me to check.
