Netbus is a remote access program that's been around for a long time. From what I've read, it's a client/server arrangement that needs to get installed on your PC somehow (usually by clicking something you shouldn't) & then it will allow various activities to be performed by someone at a remote computer.

Sounds like you may have been being port-scanned. The client half of the program will scan computers, looking for the server operating on an open port. If your firewall blocked it, good - it did its job. Like I said, this one has been around for a long time, so any firewall software that isn't utter crap should protect against it.

I had no trouble with my computer until I downloaded somebody's music from this forum. Actually, I didn't get anything but I tried to download it. Just after this my computer started to slow down and I had to keep restarting it. I called MSN and they instructed me on how to reboot everything so the worm wouldn't bother my computer anymore. Now I don't download anyone's music from here.

While it's possible to hide a trojan in an audio or graphic file, if your player software was properly updated there'd be little chance of such malware being able to exploit such a vulnerability.
