Members SYMBOLIC
I have the metrophones too, although I really don't like the metronome that they have on board and tend to use an outboard metronome.
Members cearleywine
I just use cheap 12$ Phillips ear buds with large port hole. I like these because I can hear the drums crisp and clear.
Members 1001gear
I use old JBL monitors at about 7, 8 feet. Couple advantages over phones IMO. You have a balance issue like you would live. And you have a natural sound field coming off your drums. As a power workout this approach is unbeatable. All musical issues - dynamics, articulation, ensemble precision, etc. come into play. Most important I think, you develop more resolution and detail in the unplugged zones of your craft. Members Jeff Graw
Senn HD 650's. Anything that blocks sound changes the sound of your drums, why would you want to do that? A good set of "open" headphones will give you all of the advantages of monitors but are comparatively cheap and portable.

Members chesley
i use just my ipod phones with a winchester shooting ear protection over them. Same result as the Vic Firth isos for a fraction of the cost. what can I say, I'm a tight bastid!

Members soundcreation
Shure E3's. Absolutely awsome. In ear "buds" with 30db of reduction. They lower the volume without affecting tone. I would have gotten the VF iso phones but I like the in ear aspect much better. They are a tad pricey but if you want quality sometimes you gotta pay for it.
