  1. Hey guys, So Sidrak and Bokkus is a new band out of Burlington, VT. So far we've self produced one album called "White Noise on Black Paper," and we're getting to the final stages of releasing it. Before we do, however, I need a little help. Mainly, the low end mix is a little muddy IMO. On some of the songs, I think it's ok, but in some of the others it seems a tad bit distracting. I don't know if it's my system, but take a listen and let me know what you think. Also, would not be opposed to song critiques as well, they always help We recorded the raw tracks at a local studio, then transferred the files into the bass players Pro Tools system, and we mixed it from there. http://www.reverbnation.com/sidrakandbokkus
  2. Hey, this is my first post in this part of the forum. I'd like you guys to check out my temporary band's myspace page: The Manix And tell me what you think of the song called "Time On The Line." It was recorded at my house with a Mackie Micro-Series 1202 mixer and a SB X-FI. What do you think about about the mix?
  3. A little blunt but true. Audacity and Krystal are free. Reaper is $40. What the hell are you thinking  I was sick of using {censored}ty stuff. I've used Audacity and Krystal, and I don't like any of them. I'm not an idiot, I was just bored and I wanted to find a new audio program. There were no viruses, but the program sucked. I'm back using Sonar 1 and I'm happy. No more distorted guitar, and I love the monitors.
  4. I downloaded it off Limewire. It was only about 90 MB's, so maybe I got ripped. This program sucks, so it probably wasn't Sonar 4. But I went back to Sonar 1, and I'm happy. I just don't have any money to buy the actual disc from Cakewalk, so I'm gonna have to do with this for now.
  5. Hey thanks for the help. I'll update the drivers. Also, what I meant by "no monitors" is that Sonar XL has a db monitor right on the track, whereas with Sonar 4 I had to go to a different view. I just didn't like doing that, so I finally uninstalled Sonar 4 and went back to XL.
  6. So I recently got Sonar 4, upgraded from Sonar XL 1.3.1. The new program doesn't do anything I want, it has no monitors, and the console is not for me. I can't get a decent guitar sound out of it. It clips and distorts all the time. Usually, in XL, I would set the track in from my Audigy 2, and record. It sounded great. Now it sounds like crap. I've tried messing with the sound card, the velocity, almost everything I can think of. I use the guitar hooked into a Line 6 POD 2.0, if that matters. I've tried messing with everything, but the guitar is either distorted or wayyyyy to soft.
