I just bought a Shure SM57 and 50' Conquest mic cable at my local Mom and Pop for $90. (runs like hell...)

I'm having shashlik for supper.

I'd go with Jet Airliner instead. It's a fun part to play, and it really carries the song. I'd also add anything Tiran Porter did with the Doobie Brothers. He's the master of the understated bass line that stays off the root.
