  1. I give it out. Plus, if people were not willing to give out serial numbers I wouldn't be able to get good serial numbers when I build my copies.:poke:
  2. When I was 17 I had an old Les Paul ($200.00), an old Tele ($350.00), a TV Junior ($500.00) a BF Bassman (150) and a SF Vibrolux (got for free with the Les Paul and put 200 into fixing it) and a USA Strat (500). I also had a studio that I recorded local bands in. I had a Fostex R8 and a peavey board (that stuff was expensive back then). All paid for by me. When I was a kid I mowed lawns (3 lawns a week @ 20 each), delivered papers (60 a week) and did snow in the winters. I kept 3 a week when I was in 3rd - 5th grade and saved the rest, I raised to 5 a week in junior high and then in high school got a job. I never asked my dad for money and always pretty much bought the gear I wanted. My dad set up a mutual fund for me and would take my cash and send them a check every week for what I made. I bought my first car (used BMW 320 - cost me $1000) out of that fund and also used it for spending money for my first couple years of college.
  3. I don't see how paying someone very little for something worth a lot is a crime. If he held a gun to the guy's head and made him sell it I could see that but with the internet there is no reason to not know what something is worth. I wouldn't want that on my conscience but I have had people bid up ebay auctions I have run so high for junk that I have felt bad about it. At the end of the day the guy's post probably was made up anyway.
  4. Ginger Baker is 70 and prob. can't lift his arms anymore... your reply = Epic Fail! I would rather see Miley Cyrus sing Achey Breaky Heart then listen to Bono sing for 30 seconds. Ginger Baker played pretty well a few years ago on the reunion tour.
  5. That's awesome. Not a Green Day fan, but U2 is a band I don't get and I hate Bono and had he won he probably would have said Americans are not doing enough for Haiti then would have blown $1000.00 on a new pair of ladies glasses. I want to be at the U2 show when the battery in the delay pedal dies. Clapton should be banned from TV until he stops playing 'bluzeman' and gets The Cream back together.
  6. well, aside from the guys in Mettalica, Geogre Lynch and Ritchie Sambora I don't know who any of those people are. not a bon jovi, dokken or metallica fan. I do like Ronnie Wood.
  7. Why don't you try to get some old Kramer pickups?
  8. I bought an SG faded for $400.00 with a little wear on it. If you need to move them cheap I would say price them low on CL. Facts are facts and the market sucks right now (if you're a seller). If you need quick cash you need to price them low. This is why people should put their money in the bank before they spend it on guitars. Last thing you need is your money tied up in guitars when you need cash.
  9. If it's an older one I would be interested in knowing what a lot of bass is since the music those guitars were built to play had very little low end in it.
  10. This is sweet. Counteroffer $1850, the last penny you have for the month, tell him you know it's low but it's the best you can do and you'd consider it a favor. When he takes it show up in blackface with a certified check and tell him in a thick nigerian accent you are the man to take delivery and here is the check. If he says "cash only" tell him you have the proper ATM deposit if hell take that. Then whip out a rubber footlongdoubledong and hit him in the mouth as hard as you can. Hopefully you break his teeth. While stunned, hit him three or four times to the now protected face until you see blood streaming out of his nostrils. Wrap the dong around his neck and choke him until he falls to the ground. {censored} him hard in the ass with the dong and as he comes to from the rectum shredding agony, shriek at the top of your lungs, "ONE ATM DEPOSIT, COMING UP!" then take the buggering end of the double dong and shove it in his bloody mouth as he chokes on it. While he frantically flails his arms, counter-offer him $14 dollars. I'll bet he'll take it. No - tell him you'll give him what he wants. You'll bring a cashier's check for $5000.00 and he would please refund the difference to your courier.
  11. My last 2 years of high school I played in a band with 2 guys that were about 26 or 27. The drummer quit and we met another guy. We found the new drummer because the other guitar player was a temporary mailman and he heard someone drumming so he banged on the door and asked him to join the band. The new drummer was a nice guy but weird. He was totally stuck in the 80s, he liked Def Leopard and made us play 8675309 (we were mainly an original band with some Johnny Thunders covers - both me and the other guy had TV Juniors LOL!). Anyway, he joins the band and he really can't play. He had a Ludwig Vistalite set (clear) and refused to play Chinese Rocks at a show outside of Boston because he didn't want to offend Chinese people. We stopped playing with him, but he had left a nice Fender bass from the early 70s at my house where we played. The other guitarist took it and wouldn't return it - he also moved away because he finished his masters and was an engineer. I helped the drummer track him down and it ruined my friendship with the guitar player, which sucked because we were good friends and used to go look at guitars and hang out all the time - even when I was in college. The drummer is a great guy (lousy drummer) and I run into him now and again. He also was a cop the whole time this was going on and never played the cop card.
  12. you have a lot of time on your hands.
  13. I worked in a store in the mid 1990s. One day a guy came in, took an American Strat off the wall and walked out. I gave lessons at the store, so I didn't know exactly what was going on, but they caught the guy about 45 minutes later. GC Boston sold me a mistagged 1955 Les Paul TV Junior for the price of a sunburt one. They had both and somehow the tags got switched. I asked the guy if he was sure the price was ok and he said it was. They called me at home to try to get me to bring it back, but I had the receipt with the right s/n so I told them to screw.
  14. I used to buy tons of stuff, after a while I realized having less that I really liked made less clutter in the house. The other thing was keeping everything strung up and with fresh stings was a pain. I would want to play and instead did a string change and quick setup.
  15. Dano Reissue - $150 picked up Fulltone Supatrem - $150 picked up Fulltone 70 - $85 picked up MXR CAE MC-402 $85 picked up Will also ship any of this stuff.
  16. If you can't do better then I'm out. A shop near me has one for what you're asking.
  17. 1- Can you post pics of the back with the cover removed of the elctronics? 2- Can you do any better on the price?
  18. I'm interested if you will guarantee it has the Moog electronics. From the pictures you're showing it looks like an RD Standard which has passive pickups. There were three versions of this.
