  3. If you ain't bleeding, you ain't playing. :poke: EG
  4. I wish my LPs did that! Did you buy flowers? That helps sometimes. EG
  5. I guess if you don't need it, you don't need it. Certainly not everyone goes in for every style. EG
  6. I generally know a pickup is dead when I get slapped. EG
  7. I have a epi special II. So do I. The ultimate cheap guitar! EG
  8. Oh no, I didn't mean for nitro. That stuff will rot your brain! Or a heater will ignite it and blow your garage sky high. But for poly, wouldn't a heated garage with an exhaust fan work? I don't know. I've always sprayed in the summer. Well, you're not going to be able to use poly like they do on the imports. That stuff is UV cured. Most auto paints are lacquers and are very durable. Enamel works OK but takes forever and a day to cure properly. Not sure what the discolorations are, but if you are good with stain, you could probably get them to blend fairly well. But maybe not...especially if there is something soaked into the wood. I did one guitar with enamel. It turned out pretty good but next time I'll use an auto lacquer. Dries much faster than enamel. 9. I liked it. I also find U2's early "socially relevant" music about the dangerous times of 1970s dublin (what sunday bloody sunday is about) very interesting, and in some strange way I regret being a white kid who's never faced any REAL hardship, because there's nothing romantic to write about! There's a whole world out there to write about. I was never really a fan of JW until I saw the film. He's one of my favorites now. Its funny how one's understanding (or lack thereof) of a person can have such an impact on appreciation. The opening sequence with the slide setup sealed it for me. I love someone who understands that music is about art and the soul of man, not just gear. All three of these guys have very different approaches to music but the one thing they share is a passion for creation. EG
  10. I picked up a new acoustic on Wednesday. Got an Ibanez AC30 for $200. Best money I've spent in a while. It sounds much better than its price tag indicates. Mahogany body, solid spruce top, maple binding, 00 size. EG
  11. Toilet paper. Or strings. Yep. I'll go with strings. EG
  12. I always found the sound on the Champs kind of weak. I ended up with the AC4 but I love that Vox sound. Been impressed with the Blackhearts I've tried though. Nice sound. EG
