  1. I like a guitar with dual humbucker's sound...but I don't think I could live with it being my only guitar. I'd need something with single coils in it for sure. A Les Paul sound can be too thick and get lost in the mix playing with other instruments in a band setting sometimes. I'd need a telecaster or strat to cut through the mix. A Les Paul does have a nice sound in my opinion...just not EVERY sound. Oh I agree totally 100%. I have a Strat myself, and I believe there's a time and place for any make of electric guitar. I'm just amazed at how the Les Paul is able to pull off jazz, rock, blues, and metal all in the same instrument. If I were to play punk or surf rock, I'ed err on the side of a Strat. You definitely can't pull of Floydian type stuff with a Les Paul as compared to a Strat. But on the same token, Steve Howe and Robert Fripp both used Lesters at one point or another in their prog-rock career and seemed to succeed in the endeavors.
  2. If you have to ask, you need to log off and go play your guitar. But there in lies the problem. I log on and get major GAS for strats, teles, esquires, sg classics...you name it, I want it. Then I log off, pick up my Les Paul and nothing else is worth my attention. Well...maybe accept for a nice par of tits in my face, but that never happens.
  3. Thanks for not helping jump start our stalled economy!! My alcohol consumption is my contribution to this stalled economy, thank you very much. And let me tell you, that's quite a stimulus. Back OT. I had a dream last Christmas that someone had stolen my Les Paul and I reacted by crying. When I woke up my face was wet, so I guess I was also crying in real life. I hope this never happens, but I can assure you all that if this ever happened, and I actually found the person who did this, I wouldn't hesitate from ripping their head off and {censored}ting down their neck.
  4. Yeah Ive found the same thing with my LP studio- and I didnt even like it at first. Its such an awesome, versatile guitar. My explorer is still my big GAS killer tho- every time i look at buying a new guitar, I think to myself "will I like this more than my explorer?". The answer is always the same. Pain in the ass. Wouldn't you agree?
  5. You must be wrong, don't you know gibson qc is terrible:thu: Glad you like her and I know what you mean:wave: It's a Custom from 93, so I don't know a lot about the QC from that era. Nevertheless, the quality on this baby is supreme. Nonetheless, Thank you
  6. The thing is a {censored}ing GAS killer. There's other guitars I really want, but after playing my Lester I forget about every make and model of the electric guitar. Is this a curse or a blessing?
