Members benricci
The clones are typically not that much less than the real thing, why not just buy the Celestion? I know these guys used to do them, not sure if they still do... http://warehousespeakers.com/

Members Wyatt
Well, in case anyone else stumbles across this... The closest clone to the Celestion Blue RI is the 15-watt Weber Blue Dog. The Celestion RI was designed to be brighter and louder than a real, vintage Blue because Celestion knows modern tastes lean that way (I find the RI a bit fatiguing). Weber's 30-watt Blue Dog and the Scumback Scumnico are closer to the real, vitnage Blues, a little mellower all around than the Blue RI. Haven't tried the Red Fang or Tone Tubby, but they are both options as well.
Members steve_man
what is the cost difference between the Weber and the Celestion?
Members Wyatt
what is the cost difference between the Weber and the Celestion? They are both $$$, raw Alnico prices climbed with raise of source metals (mostly cobalt), but never seemed to go down when the market bottomed out. And the Alnico ring used on the Blue-style speaker (and the Jensen N-style speaker) is a pretty hefty amount. The price difference used to be over $100, but the Celestion has come down through some dealers and the Weber has gone up. So, now I think it's closer to $50.
