The guy wasn't very knowledgeable.....it powers up, then blows the fuse...

I have experience with tube amp building, so I would probably fix it myself to save money, then flip it....but I don't know if it would be worth it...

I would be risking the possibility of a broken transformer...

Sounds like a bad power tube to me. That is the same thing that was happening to my Marshall. New tubes, solved the problem right up.

Yep, this is what I was thinking. About two years ago, Bassman heads from that era (I'm assuming it's Blackface) were going on average for about $500. Now, I see them going for about $550-700. So, you can gauge your decision from there.

My heart skipped a beat at first when finding the ad, but at this point, I might let it pass...
1. I have enough projects already
2. I'm trying to downsize
3. I'm unaware of the specific deficiency of the amp
4. It's an hour away
5. Trying to resell it to someone while convincing them that a high schooler fixed it properly could get difficult
6. It's not a specifically collectible amp

Now, the 1964 Fender Vibrolux amp for $300 that I missed by 5 minutes last time on Craigslist would have been a steal!

Here's the ad for anyone else interested:
