Members uberthrall Posted June 6, 2009 Members Share Posted June 6, 2009 Well, I snagged a sweet purple 91' Ibanez RG-770DX last week, and knew it was coming in today. This morning I got up and did the usual Craigslist scan, and found another gem. An 82' Hamer Special in a really funky green finish. The Ibby is pretty much as I expected it to be. Overall in good shape....few dings on the back. It plays really nice, and sounds surprisingly good. The 770DX's had one weak spot, the pickups tend to sound a little weak. This one's different than the others I've had or tried....sounds really nice. The Hamer's a really heavy beast. The body is a big slab of mahogany. This one has a Duncan Screamin' Demon in the bridge that sounds surprisingly good. I got the original bridge pup too, as well the OHSC and the parts for a booster mod that was added to it sometime in the 80's or 90's. Here's the Hamer. And here's the Ibby.
